Wick: Bible & Quiet Time
Published by Cornerstone Global LLC
Effective date: October 18, 2026
This policy explains what information the Wick: Bible & Quiet Time app (“the app”) collects and how it is used. The short version: everything you do in the app stays on your phone, encrypted, with no account. The only exception is the optional live gatherings (version 1.1 and later): while you are in one, your nickname and voice travel through our calling service so others can hear you. Nothing is recorded.
We do not collect your reading, notes or progress
The Bible text, daily verses and lessons are all built into the app and work with no internet connection. Nothing you read, write or save in the app is sent to us or anyone else, so we have nothing to share, sell or hand over. The only part of the app that uses the internet is the optional live gatherings, described below.
The app does not:
- require an account, sign-in, email address or phone number (leaders who host gatherings are the only exception; see below)
- collect your name, contacts, location, photos or Apple ID
- use advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking tools
- track you across other apps or websites
Information that stays on your phone
The following is stored only on your device and is never sent anywhere:
- Your daily progress, streak and lesson progress
- Private notes you write on verses
- Verses you keep in your memory jar, your highlights and reading-plan progress
- Your place in the Bible and your settings
- Your PIN, stored only as a scrambled (salted and hashed) value in your phone’s secure storage
Everything except the PIN is stored encrypted (AES-256). The encryption key is kept in your phone’s secure storage, set to stay on this phone only, so it is not copied to iCloud or computer backups. A backup restored onto another phone cannot open your data.
We cannot see any of this, and we cannot recover it for you.
Reading aloud and reminders
“Listen” uses your phone’s built-in voice, on the phone. If you turn on the optional daily reminder, it is scheduled on your phone by your phone; nothing is sent to us. The plain reminder’s wording never mentions faith, but your phone shows the app’s name with it. From version 1.1 you can instead choose to see that day’s Bible verse in the reminder; the verses are built into the app and scheduled on your phone.
Live gatherings (optional)
From version 1.1, the Gather tab lists live Bible studies, fellowship and prayer, and lets you join them by voice. If you never open a gathering, the app sends nothing. When you use gatherings:
- Calendar: the app downloads the list of upcoming gatherings from our server. It sends nothing about you to do this.
- Joining: you choose a nickname. The app also makes a random ID for your phone (not linked to your name, number or Apple ID) so a host can block a disruptive phone. Your nickname and this ID are sent to our server and the calling service while you are in a gathering.
- Voice and video: your voice (when you unmute) and a host’s camera (when they turn it on) travel through LiveKit, our calling provider, to the other people in the gathering. Calls are encrypted in transit. We do not record gatherings, and nothing said is stored.
- Connection details: like any internet call, the calling service sees your device’s internet address while you are connected. We do not keep it. In places where faith is watched, we recommend using a trusted VPN.
- Microphone and camera: your phone asks before the app can use them. The microphone is used only while you are unmuted in a gathering, and is turned off when you lock your phone or leave the app. Only hosts can use a camera.
- Reports and blocks: if you report someone, we receive their nickname and phone ID, the gathering and the reason, so a leader can act. We don’t store who made the report. Blocking someone happens only on your phone.
- Bans: if a host bans a phone, we keep its random ID and nickname on a ban list until a host lifts it.
- Reminders: “Remind me” is scheduled on your phone; nothing is sent to us.
Leaders who host gatherings sign in with an email address that Cornerstone Global has approved. We store leaders’ email addresses only to send their sign-in code and to know who may host. We never ask members for an email.
Our service providers for gatherings are LiveKit (voice and video), Vercel and Redis (our server and its small database) and Resend (leader sign-in emails). They process this information only to provide the service.
Face ID and Touch ID
If you choose to unlock with Face ID, Touch ID or your phone’s fingerprint unlock, your phone checks it. The app only learns whether the check passed. Your face or fingerprint data never reaches the app or us.
Screen privacy
To protect your privacy, the app locks itself when you switch away from it and hides its contents in the app switcher.
Deleting your information
You can erase everything at any time:
- On the lock screen, tap Forgot PIN? and choose to erase and start over. This deletes all of your progress, saved verses and settings.
- Deleting the app also erases your data.
Your reading, notes and progress never reach us, so there is nothing to delete on our side. Gathering details last only for the call, except ban-list entries and reports, which leaders can clear. To ask us to remove anything, see Delete your data.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13. Outside of gatherings it collects no personal information from anyone. Gatherings use nicknames only, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. Important changes will also be noted in the app’s update notes. If a future version sends any new information off your phone, this policy will say so first.
